Ireland, Day 2, after dinner mint! McCafferty's Bar, Donegal

We tried to hear local music in every town, but often it didn't start until 21:30 or 22:00. Some nights we made it, some we didn't. FYI - It starts getting light at 04:00 and doesn't get completely dark until 23:30. The trade off is in the winter they only have 3-5 hours of daylight. As you can see from the pictures, we met four widowed sisters. Paula hit it off with the younger one especially, who told her, "Life is short. Have fun!"

The solo artist played guitar and kick drum. Besides Irish tunes, he played Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," Dolly Parton's "Jolene," some Kris Kristofferson, and one of my favorite Irish songs from the band U2 out of Dublin, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."

Of the four of us, Paula being the party animal, was the only one who danced. We cheered her on!
